Q. ARE THERE MOVING TRUCKS AVAILABLE TO USE?
A. Our facilities offer a free rental truck for move-in to the storage, some restrictions apply. Call the location nearest to you for details. We also offer local truck rentals.

Q. CAN I BUY BOXES AND OTHER PACKING PRODUCTS FROM RAY SELF STORAGE?
A. Yes. All Ray Self Storage facilities offer a wide variety of boxes and packing supplies.

Q. DO YOU HAVE VIDEO CAMERAS?
A. All Ray Self Storage facilities use video cameras as a security measure. Cameras are generally located at the point of entry and exit and other areas around the facility. The number of cameras and the type of system that is installed at each facility will vary based on the design of the facility.

Q. CAN ANYBODY DRIVE ONTO THIS PROPERTY OR DO YOU NEED A SECURITY CODE?
A. Most of our facilities have an electronic gate system, which can only be opened by a security code that is assigned to each individual tenant. The code allows us to monitor who is entering and exiting the facility.

Q. WHAT IS CLIMATE CONTROL?
A. Climate control self storage units are heated and air-conditioned; this is a feature that we offer at most of our facilities. This feature helps protect your stored belongings from the extreme temperatures.

Q. WHAT IS A ROLL-UP DOOR?
A. Roll-up doors are the most common doors in self-storage. They are accessed by sliding a latch and lifting the door upward, similar to the motion of a garage door. Roll-up doors allow you to maximize the usage of your space.

Q. DO I GET A LOCK WHEN I RENT A UNIT?
A. You can purchase a new lock at any of our local storage facilities, or you can bring your own lock. We recommend purchasing a disc lock to ensure the highest level of security.

Q. DO YOU OFFER RV/BOAT/CAR/MOTORCYCLE PARKING?
A. Ray Self Storage offers parking for RVs, boats, cars and motorcycles.

Q. WHAT IS A DRIVE-UP UNIT?
A. A drive-up unit is a storage unit, located on the ground, which gives you the ability to load your belongings directly from a vehicle or truck.

Q. WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OFFICE HOURS AND GATE HOURS?
A. The office hours are the hours of operation for the property. During these hours the Store Manager will be available to assist you with your storage needs or moving and packing supplies. The gate hours are the hours when your unit can be accessed. If you require access outside of our standard gate hours ask your Store Manager for information about extended hours access.

Q. HOW FAR IN ADVANCE CAN I BOOK A RESERVATION?
A. We give you the flexibility to book a reservation in advance to help you plan ahead. There is a $10 non-refundable fee that can be applied towards the monthly rent.

Q. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN INDOOR AND OUTDOOR UNIT?
A. An outdoor unit has access from outside, meaning you can drive up to your unit to unload your items. An indoor unit is within a building and will require you to go inside to access your unit.

Q. WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT TERMS?
A.  Ray Self Storage strives to make your storage experience as hassle free as possible, including paying your bill. Our leases are month-to-month, and they will be due on the day you move in. There is no deposit or administration fee.  Payments can be processed by mail or in person. You may also arrange to have payments automatically charged to your credit card. Please ask your manager about this feature.

Q. WHAT SIZES ARE AVAILABLE AND HOW DO I PICK MY SIZE?
A. We offer a wide range of sizes to accommodate your needs. Sizes range from 5×5, or 25 square feet, to 10×30, or 300 square feet. Determining the right size is easy with the help of our Store Managers who are trained to assist you in this process.

Q. HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR?
A. We offer month to month leases, meaning no long contracts and no long commitment.

Q. WHEN CAN I GET TO MY BELONGINGS?
A. Our facilities are accessible 7 days a week. Office and access hours vary by location. Please visit the location nearest you for office and access hours.

Q. HOW MUCH NOTICE MUST BE GIVEN WHEN I MOVE OUT?
A. We require a 10 days written notice prior to the end of the rental period. We also ask you to fill out a vacating report once unit is empty.

Q. DO YOU OFFER TENANT INSURANCE?
A. If it’s worth storing, it’s worth protecting! Though caution has been taken to provide you with a safe and secure storage space, we are not responsible for any damage or loss. Our facilities are pre-approved by Deans and Homer Self Storage Insurance. Ask our Storage Manager for brochures to enroll or you can also do it online at www.insureyourstuff.com.  You can also check with your home owner’s or rental insurance agent about adding a storage unit to your existing policy.
